When it comes to buying pre-cooked chicken breast strips, the first question should not be “which pre-cooked chicken breast strips are the best?”, but why would you ever buy pre-cooked chicken breasts?
For the record, the second question is also “why???”, except with 3 question marks.
So, in a moment of complete insanity (I’m talking tongue waging raving lunatic here), I bought some pre-cooked chicken breasts. Wait. Let me back up. I was coming from an extra intense gym class and I was 99% drained. That remaining 1% of brain power I put to the task of grocery shopping. That was my second mistake. My first mistake was not preparing something to eat at home before going to the gym. So what happened instead?
I fucked up. That’s what happened.
I was thinking, “Yeah, go Primal. Make a salad. All you need is some tuna, or hey, maybe get some chicken”, when I saw it.
Marc Angelo Italian Style fully cooked and seasoned chicken breasts. All sliced up too! Perfect for…a grilled chicken Caesar salad, right? Wrong. So wrong.
So why was this wrong? Well, first of all, these so-called “chicken breast strips” barely tasted like chicken. They were just…rubbery. I can’t describe it. And secondly, the seasoning was just all wrong. Maybe the rubbery texture was too much of a distraction. It’s hard to say.
And finally, do you know how easy it is to make chicken breast strips at home??? I mean, it’s just a chicken breast! What else? Some oregano? Pepper? All purpose spice at the very least?
Anyway, they may have better products than this one. All I know is that these chicken breast strips were awful. So yeah, make your own
